Gossip Girl (Chuck Bass)

Good Morning Upper East Siders,

For those of you that don’t know or haven’t picked up on it yet this blog will be about our favorite New York WASP, Chuck Bass. Gossip Girl was a big part of most teenage girls growing up and for some of the younger generation (like me) well we went back and binge watched the crap out of it. The acting may have been terrible and very few people in the world can actually relate to what was happening on the show, yet we couldn’t stop watching it anyways.

There we many many beautiful people in that show. I mean Blake Lively is one of the prettiest women on this planet. And Nate Archibald I mean seriously who could resist. Honestly the only person on the show that people unanimously do not like is Dan Freaking Humphries. And basically his whole family. And everyone associated with him.

Yet someone who has one of the biggest transformations of any character is Chuck Bass. We first start off with meeting him and automatically don’t like him. He’s just another one of Daddy’s rich sons. And if I recall correctly also tried to rape a girl??? I mean seriously you just loved to hate the guy. But eventually the hate started to fade away and all that was left was love.

He was the type of guy every girl dates trying to fix. And trust me, we’ve all been there. But Blair really did change him. I mean seriously 3 words 8 letters say it and I’m yours? Sweetie I don’t have to say anything I’m yours already. Their relationship was so topsy turvy. Yet we loved every turn it took.

When they eventually get together, and thank God they did because who else would we want him to end up with, your heart just bursts with joy. Their wedding was everything we wanted  and more for our own. And secretly i’m still waiting for Chuck to come and sweep me off my feet. But until then, i’ll just sit here and wait, behind my computer screen, for the love of my life.

Gossip Girl (aka me)

American Horror Story (Evan Peters)

I’m backkkkkkkk. So this week I decided to have a little fun and touch upon a little horror story. Yes i’m talking about American Horror Story. And yes that means discussing everyones favorite wacko, Evan Peters.

We’ve watched him grown up over the past six wacky seasons. And I do mean wacky. We started off with absolutely falling in love with him there. I mean who knew we could love a ghost. Even though he was totally screwed up, we liked it anyways. Weird I know but we did. It happens. Plus he was totally in love with Violet and we all wanted them to end up together. Even though he’s with Emma Roberts (ick). He did however get a little weird though and it was quite frightening when he became so obsessed.

This bring us to season two. Coven. Not their best. The weird aspect of it was the whole alien part to it. However we (ps when I keep saying we I really mean me) did like that they made Evan have a lovely Boston accent. I seriously loved him and his wife too. Like he really loved his family in it and I loved it.

American Horror story kind of goes downhill from coven, theres less of Evan Peters and even less of a plot in some of the seasons. All in all I kept watching just t see Evan and now that theres less of him I’ve contemplating stop watching it all together. But with a smile like his and those dimples, uhg those dimples. I can’t stop watching.

Parks and Rec (Andy Dwyer)

So i’m going in for round two, and I figured I may as well stick with the comedy fellows. Which brings me to another love of mine, Andy Dwyer.

Now he may have been the most naive 20 something year old man in the history of television, however, he was absolutely precious in every way possible. I mean he even fell down into a giant empty lot and seriously injured himself. Yet we love him anyway.

He meant well in everything he did and everything he did he did with other peoples hearts in his mind. He seriously cared about everyone around him no matter who they were. And he loved April, like so so so so much. And it was just about the cutest thing ever. They even adopted a three legged dog and they loved him so much.

His love for his band and indecisiveness was freaking hilarious. From calling them Fleetwood Mac Band to ending up on Mouse Track, it was just hilarious.

All in all one cannot capture the cuteness of Andy Dwyer in a single blog post, so I just recommend you go and watch it for yourself.

The Office (aka everyone’s favorite, Jim)

Hello ladies and gentlemen welcome back. I know its been quite a while I know and i’m sorry. I’m sure all you followers out there (yes all one of you) truly missed my blog posts and I appreciate that. Things got hectic with Christmas break and the removal of my wisdom teeth. Yes, I know I am no longer wise therefore I can no longer make wise cracks ): But don’t you worry your pretty little heads, I am back and better then ever. And starting off the new year strong with one of the most beloved characters on sitcom television, Jim Halpert.

If you have not ever seen an episode of NBC’s The Office, I have two things to tell you.

Are you a hermit and have been living under a rock? And go right now and watch an episode (preferably Stress Relief part one, arguably the best episode from the whole series) to get a feel for what the show is like.

Working in an office full of chaos, one of the main characters, Jim Halpert made the best of his situation. Portrayed by the dream boat that is John Krasinski, everyone now officially wants a Jim in their lives.

The love story between he and Pam, entices you from the beginning. From friends, to admiring from a far, to pining after her, to girlfriend/boyfriend, to engaged, to married and lastly to pregnant, twice. You truly feel like your involved in their relationship. From Jim giving her the tea pot full of gifts she loved to him fighting for her love you just fall in love with the two of them together. And it wasn’t even the big things it was the little things that made you fall harder. He would pull pranks in the office, which we will be getting back to later, just to make her happy. And when he first found out Pam was pregnant and came out all teary eyes, my heart actually melted. Like really. As in I had to stick the goop in the freezer and hope that it would turn back into a heart. But all in all they were the perfect couple, and not perfect in the way where their relationship seems unreal, but perfect in the way that they had fights and they had rough patches. They were just, perfect.

The other thing we loved about Jim was his jokester side. He would screw around with Dwight so often that some time if physically pained me. From laughing so frickin hard. To me the best prank was when he convinced Dwight that he was actually asian the whole time and that Dwight didn’t know it. Or when he put all his desk supplies in jello. He was brilliant!!! But at the same time he cared about Dwight so much. They were the perfect frenamies.

Lastly Jim and Michael had a cuties little relationship. Even though Michael was the boss, he looked up to Jim like a lost puppy. Michael just wanted to be hip and cool and he thought that Jim would be the perfect influence. Even though Jim would mess with him a little bit, he also sometimes took him under his wing. All in all Jim is just the perfect guy. All you ladies out there deserve a Jim, guys too.

30 Rock (Jack Donaghy)

This week on Keeping it Up with the Boy Obsessed Alex, were moving onto bigger and older men. Yes, thats right ladies and gents, i’m talking about Alec freaking Baldwin. Now, I know what your thinking, Alec Baldwin??? Really???? Yes really. And trust me, I used to feel the same way, and honestly sometimes I still do. But once you watch 30 Rock, well (pun intended) your world will be rocked.

His character on 30 Rock, Jack Donaghy, straight up had me falling head over heels in love with him. Though a big cooperation republican (bleh) I couldn’t help but fall for him. The relationship between Liz Lemon and him was absolutely precious. The mentor student/ only real friends that they have was adorable. They truly cared for one another even though they didn’t always show it. He took her under his wing and the dynamic they had was incredible. Not even that but the fact that they never got together really does show that women and men can just be friends, sorry Harry and Sally but someone had to prove you wrong.

Jack always had such a witty response to everything. His brain was always moving, planning the next move before he’s even made his first one. He was great in a crisis but able to admit when he needed help. He handled the craziness of Tracy and Jenna with as much class as one could. He was also able to recognize when he was being crazy himself, a hard thing to do.

His love life is a whole other story though. He bounced from women to women. A player if you will. But when he falls in love he falls hard. And it precious. He cared about each women he ended up with and it was adorable. And the love he showed for his daughter was adorable. He wanted the best for her and would give her all he could.

Now as for Alec in real life, I am not the biggest fan. From getting kicked off an airplane to throwing temper tantrums I never really know how to feel about him. One thing I do know is that he attended every volleyball game of his daughters that he could and to me that shows something good about him. All in all I don’t think he’s such a bad guy. And maybe just maybe if the world opens up their hearts to Alec, Alec will open his up back.

One Tree Hill (Nathan Scott)

Just like every other teenage girl in the United States i’ve obsessed over every episode of One Tree Hill. I binge watched that crap on Netflix (which also happens to be my best friend) for an entire summer. I also happen to be the fastest binge watcher I know and completed it with time to spear. To note how impressive that is one must understand that One Tree Hill has 9 seasons with 24 four episodes per season each lasting roughly 42 minutes. One may say I wasted my time, others (like me) say I did it right.

In the beginning of the show I was clearly rooting for the Chad Michael Murray character Lucas Scott. He was the teen heart throb from 2005 and rocked my world in A Cinderella Story. But soon enough the tables turned and my heart grew fonder and fonder for the dearly beloved Nathan Scott.

Nathan Scott was a troubled bad boy and Lord knows thats my type. He’s a self righteous asshole who I couldn’t help but love. He straight up bullied his half brother Lucas in the beginning of the show all the while lowkey getting bullied himself by his douchebag father. I mean seriously if there was an award for worst father of the year this man would not only win it hands down but would then proceed to have the award named after him. Anyway he was very troubled in the first season however you loved his shenanigans anyway. He wasn’t that cute in the beginning of the show but boy oh boy does that seriously change.

He eventually falls in love with Haley James and they become the ultimate OTP. Like I personally don’t want to be married but if I could be promised a relationship like then someone better book me a spot on say yes to the dress. They obviously hit a few bumps on the road *cough cough* Chris Keller *cough cough* and a few paralyzed husbands but they worked through it. I’ve really never seen two people more in love. They raise a beautiful family together and never gave up on one another. They give me hope that true love can be real. And yes I know they’re fake but seriously they’re perfect.

As a character himself Nathan Scott really evolves. He changes drastically and for the better. He is never boring and when he gets a basketball in his hands I just go weak in the freakin knees. The star of his team and playing North Carolina, a boy destined for Duke. Don’t mind if I doosies. I just, I love him so much.

Essentially he’s perfect and I love him. The end. ❤

The One with the Cute Guy

Okay now I just want to let everyone know that this specific blog entry is very near and dear to my heart. It is about my absolute favorite character (and I know i’ve said that before but this time I actually mean it) from my favorite tv how so as you can tell I will be very excited.

No matter what generation you’re from you’ve seen at least one episode of Friends. Maybe it was on reruns one day, maybe you religiously watched every single season, twice (like me who may and or may not have watched it more than twice, oh well), or maybe one of your friends (get it, pun intended) forced you to watch it with them. Either way you know the exact show I’m talking about. Some of you may not know who Chandler Bing is (though I hope you all know who he is), which is why i’m here today about to go off on a long ass tangent about why he is the greatest human being ever.

Okay so basically Friends is a comedic goldmine. You have the pushy, OCD Monica, the bitchy, spoiled Rachel, the crazy, quirky Phoebe, the vain, hungry Joey and the annoying, wedding crazy Ross. Each character brings something new to the table, a different way to complement the other’s personality or to close the joke. Most of them feed off each other to make for the side splitting comedy we all love. But then you have Chandler.

Chandler is probably the most sarcastic person ever. A man after my own heart. Every second he got he had a snarky comment waiting and ready. And besides all that he had thousands of quirks that I just progressively fell in love with with each episode. His lack of love for thanksgiving, his ugly smile, his love for his friends and his loyalty to everyone.

On top of all that he had some of the absolute best lines in the show compared to anyone. I mean seriously “I’M GOING TO YEMEN!!!” and then he actually goes to fricking Yemen. YEMEN!

The relationship between he and Monica though is probably one of the best thing that happens to the show. No one saw it coming but once they were together you didn’t want them with anyone else. Meeting in London, watching them fall in love, watching the group completely FLAIL about it!!! It was perfect his lack of caring and her over zealous amount of caring was a match made in heaven. And Ross got a new brother out of it. The wedding was perfect and I just want to crying whenever I think about them. (yes this means i’m crying right now)

Essentially I am the Chandler Bing of my friends. And family. And school. Okay i’m basically just the girl version of Chandler Bing. It happens. And I love it. I even did a report in school about how much I loved him and wanted to grow up to be him. (seriously i’m not kidding) When my family and I went to California I made them take a tour of Warner Brothers studio just so that we could tour the Friends set and I could sit on the couch. I may and or may not have also said many of his famous lines and pretended to be Monica. Its fine though my tour guide was VERY amused.

Okay basically the point of this blog is that Chandler Bing is the best guy and I love him/ want to be him/ want to date him. The end.

New Girl (with the cute guy)

I think we all have a type out there. The bad boy biker type. The preppy tool (which my school happens to be full of by the way). The guitar playing stoner. And of course the nerdy dorks. We all have a type. However who would have thought that a lazy, bartending, slightly alcoholic, paranoid roommate would be a type girls across the county would dream about.

That right ladies and gents i’m talking about Nick Miller. He is (in my opinion) the cutest funniest character on the hit Fox Television show “New Girl.” We start off the show introduced to the four main guys, Nick, Schmidt, Coach (who somehow disappears for a few seasons with like no explanation at all but thats fine) and Winston. At first I didn’t really know how I felt about him. He’s no doubt a good looking guy but in the beginning I had a hard time trying to read his personality. But soon enough you learn that even though he has a kind of hard exterior he’s a big lover on the inside who cares about his friends.

He and Schmidt’s relationship is completely precious. Schmidt (who I would classify as the preppy tool type) looks to Nick as kind of a support system. And Nick being Nick sort of like to diss him sometimes and act like a “macho man” but as we saw in him pretending to be Michael Keaton for Schmidt, attending an Indian speed dating convention, pretending to be Jewish and make out with a Grandma, he really does care. He would go through many shenanigans and crazy situations just to make Schmidt happy. Even though more often then not he just wants to hit him too.

Then you have Nick and Winston’s relationship who’s dynamic is definitely a little different. Since they were childhood friends the two of them have some very interesting stories together. Winston out of the group is the most insecure however he always has Nick there to keep him in check. From helping him face his fears of the dark to helping him get girls, because yes we all know Winston can sometimes struggle with that, they have a true friendship. However I do find it weird how Nick’s Dad may and or may not have loved Winston more as a son. To each is their own I guess????

Nick and Coach have a weird dynamic. The show never really focuses in on the two together so their’s not much there. However when the two do get together it is absolutely freaking hilarious. A personally favorite episode of mine is when Nick, Cece and Coach all decide to get high together and somehow end up attending a part. Filled with police officers. Oh and did I forget to mention that they were all incredibly obviously stoned. It was Coaches first time though and Nick the entire time kept telling how high he was acting. Meanwhile Nick is clearly much more high then him and Coach seems almost completely sober. I’m obviously not doing the scene justice so I just recommend watching it.

Next we have Nick and Tran. Let me tell you this is my favorite of all the possible relationships on the show. I mean come on this angry man just somehow meats this non talking, who knows where he’s from, elderly man in the park??? And somehow they become best friends??? It’s freaking amazing!! He just gets so giddy around him and Tran is just genuinely so happy to be around him I love it. Nick is the talker of the two which is completely wild. Tran literally never talks. Like ever. And yet somehow Nick knows exactly what he’s saying. I love it. That is true friendship right their and Nick often refers to Tran as his bet friend which I love. The two of them together honest to God just makes my day.

Lastly we have Nick and all his lovers. From the gross bar girls he would bring home to Jess he is so funny in his shenanigans. Obviously though I supported he and Jess’s relationship the most. The transition from roommate, to friend, to girlfriend, back to friend is extremely hard. The two of them handled the situation very well though. Nick and Jess together was just adorable though, he would make her breakfast in bed, supporting her in all the crap she was trying to do, he was there for her. He got off the plane to make sure she would go to England to see her new boo, missed his flight going home so that she would be happy on Christmas and see the lights. And who could forget how much she supported him when his Dad died and how much they needed each other. And when things didn’t work out between them in the end, if you ask me Nick was slightly too immature for her (not too immature for me though !!) they tried their best to remain friends. And it worked, I mean don’t get me wrong it was SUPER awkward at first. Who could forget the couples cruise episode. It was freaking cringe worthy. But eventually they worked though it and became best friends again. Just as what they were meant to be. Now i’m only on season four of the show so things could change in the later seasons but as of right now I am content with where they are in their relationship.

All in all Nick Miller is a pretty stand up guy. Despite a few flaws, profusely sweating when lying, not being able to call anyone to fix anything and being slightly paranoid about the government/basically everything in the world he is a cutie. From his scruff to his crooked smile I just can’t (and don’t want to) get over him. Besides he definitely the most sarcastic character on the show which I absolutely adore. He is the perfect “dad bod” and I hope when I am in my late twenties/early thirties I will either already have myself a Nick Miller and or still be looking for my own. Nick Miller don’t you ever change ❤

Grey’s Anatomy (part 1)

This first of many long rants about cute men, the first of one’s about Grey’s Anatomy. (PS this will include spoilers please do not read if you do not want spoilers!!!)

This is my first blog ever. Shocking I know. Coming from the generation of kids walking down the street with their noses in their phone you would have thought we were doing something important. Nope, were just taking snapchats with freaking bee faces on them (ps save the bees!!). However, now I have officially decided to dedicate one post a week to doing something with my life and talking about something most 17 year old girls are incredibly passionate about. TV shows and the men that make them worthy of my time. Every girl is in love with the special TV heart throb, for me though it seems that every television show I have watched is staring my future soul mate, and hopefully other girls out there feel the same way. So to kick off this kick ass blog I figured I start off with the owner of all teen hearts right now (and middle aged women too) and start with big guns.

Grey’s Anatomy has been messing with my heart since 2005. From McSteamy to McDreamy (we will get to those cuties later don’t worry) the casting has been spot on with trying to get the classic suburban soccer mom to leave her family and run off with the sexy new doctor they see on their screen (I’m sure they may have succeed too). First we were introduced to Derek, Patrick Dempsey causing our hearts to burst every time he put on that friggin ferry cap. We also have Mark Sloan, the shallow but sensitive plastic’s doctor who’s not only cute in real life (I mean seriously Eric Dane are you even human??) but on the show too. It just increased the hotness overload. Then on season 6 of Grey’s (God that feels like a lifetime ago, I mean come on 13 seasons and I’m still watching, thank Jesus I don’t have a life am I right ladies?!) we were introduced to quite possibly the greatest human being ever. Okay I may be lying and I may not know him personally but for the sake of this blog he just became the greatest human being ever.

Jackson Avery somehow stumbled in out lives when Seattle Grace and Mercy West Hospital merged. It was a tough transition for not only the characters but for everyone at home too. New people on the show meant I had to make new room in my heart and I thought there was only enough for the “originals.” As the show progressed though and slowly they were getting rid of each Mercy West intruder (bye bye Percy & Reed, sorry definitely not sorry), I realized that I didn’t want Avery to go. With each zoom in of his face and the sparkle we could see in his eyes (no but really look at his eyes they are absolutely beautiful) I was becoming more and more attached. His character, though a little rough around the edges in the beginning eventually became one of my favorites. The bromance relationship that began between he and Mark Sloan is the greatest relationship on the show. (Plastic Posse Forever!!!!!)

His relationship with April Kepner however is a very heated topic for me. I personally despise April with every fiber of my being. It’s nothing against her (okay it kind of is) I just really cannot stand the women at all. She’s just so annoying and I have tried so hard to like her but ever since she betrayed Derek in the shooting episode (spoiler alert!!) I just have never been able to forgive her. The ups and downs between the two kept me very intrigued though and a little part of me was always rooting for them to end up together. This season has me questioning their relationship and at this point I’m not sure if they would be better off as just friends. One can only take so much heart ache. We’ll see how Shonda plays this out, I have full faith that she will do the right things for these characters.

So not only is Jackson Avery a great guy, but the actor that plays him, Jesse Williams, is a pretty cool dude too. Williams being half African-Ameican is very involved in the civil rights movement. He speaks his voice often on twitter (link: https://twitter.com/iJesseWilliams?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor), not caring what others have to say but is just trying to get people’s voices heard, especially those who he thinks voice isn’t being listened to. He is incredibly politically involved and especially with everything that went on with this election this year, he really tried to make his followers informed on the important issues. He also had a role in the movie The Butler, portraying the civil rights leader Rev. James Lawson (Its a fantastic film for those of you who haven’t seen it)(this is also me peer pressuring you to see it). One day after watching his moving performance I tweeted at him on a whim, and he actually tweeted me back. I then proceeded to pass out and when I woke up cried because of it. Sorry. Yes I know that’s a little crazy. It happens. (Link to tweet: https://twitter.com/alexcovello/status/435919075735535616).

(yes I know my twitter handle used to be about 5 Seconds of Summer, no judgement)

On top of all this he used to be a school teacher and was married before becoming an actor. The poison that sometimes can come with Hollywood has not interfered with this man’s morals or his relationships. All in all Jackson Avery and Jesse Williams are great people and if you haven’t watched Grey’s Anatomy I highly recommend starting it now. And if you do watch Grey’s like me and get your heart broken every Thursday night along with the rest of America, then you should definitely follow Jesse on twitter and keep up with his appearances. I promise you won’t want to miss this face (or bod!!!).
